Mio is 27 weeks old as of Saturday, and her growth and development is making our heads spin these days. She’s able to do so much now! We introduced her to the sippy cup a couple weeks ago, around the same time we started her on solids, and she has now mastered holding and drinking from it!

Good job, Mio! You make a me a proud Mama ♥

Mio drinking water from her sippy cup.

Before, she used to make a face every time she’d take a sip and discover it was water and not breast milk, but it seems like she’s finally gotten used to it. Look how relaxed she looks while drinking! 😛

Mio has also started to “commando  crawl,” also known as “army crawl” — it’s not quite a true crawl, but she’s been moving around using her arms and dragging her feet behind her. We definitely need to get a foam playmat for her and babyproof the place now that she’s on the move!

She's on the go!

The photo below makes me laugh, because she looks so funny! Almost buff… it’s amazing how much upper body strength Mio has now! It seems like just yesterday that she couldn’t keep her face off the floor and I was stressing about how difficult tummy time was for her.

lol... She looks so buff here.

Mio also loves sucking on pieces of frozen watermelon! I put it in a mesh feeder and she just sucks away on it — it seems to help her teething.

Initially, she’ll sometimes make this face because of how cold it is…

Too cold!!!

…but then once she gets used to it, she’ll chew the watermelon until it’s dry!

Mio loves it!

Here’s Mio sporting the adorable bathrobe that my brother Ted got for her. According to him, it looks like “she’s about to lay down some phat beatz!” Silly Mio, you’re supposed to make the robe look cute, not gangsta….

In the bathrobe Uncle Ted got her.

She has also recently been noticing and taking more of an interest in our pet chinchillas Diesel and Piper. Here she is trying to touch Piper.

On Sunday, she brought on a major poopacalypse and fell asleep with her tush in the air. She does this a lot lately… not sure how it could be comfortable, but I have to admit that it’s pretty adorable! 🙂

It seems like she’s going to outgrow the Bumbo seat soon, too, as she barely fits into it now. Based on what I’ve heard/read from other Asian parents, the Bumbo was not really made with chunky Asian baby thighs in mind!

Love those bright eyes...

The picture quality is not the greatest on a lot of these… I just uploaded all my photos from my phone, so this post sort of turned into a massive photo dump of all the ones I’ve taken recently. You can see all the ways our little Mio has been growing these days!
