Mio was playing with her toy phone. The song was playing. It was too perfect; I couldn’t resist.
A little early for the teen melodrama, isn’t it?

Mio loves being outdoors, especially exploring the front yard. There’s a nice garden of various flowers and plants out front, but it’s landscaped with gravel rather than grass… but that doesn’t stop Mio! Here she is exploring on Sunday afternoon…

Just looking at her tickles us… she is just the sweetest little girl! ♥
Today we spent the earlier part of the day at Marina Park in San Leandro, picnicking and BBQ-ing with friends. Here are some pictures and video of all the Memorial Day fun! (We forgot to take our camera, so they’re all from my camera phone, but better than nothing!)

I baked green tea cupcakes to bring to the picnic…

JinWoo was pushing around his toy car, when Mio (in her typical bossypants fashion) hopped onto the seat. Luckily, JinWoo was a good sport and pushed her around the picnic area, taking Mio for a joyride. It was quite a cute sight for everyone to see!
Of course, the adults had to chase them around to prevent some potentially dangerous crashes…

I’m sad that the long weekend is already coming to an end, but I’m glad that we could spend it in good company with friends! 😀
Mio loves playing ã„ãªã„ ã„ãªã„ ã°ã‚ (“inai, inai, baa”), which is the Japanese version of peek-a-boo. We’ve played it since she was a newborn, but lately she’s been doing it back to us! She’ll hide behind something and I’ll say “inai inai” — because she can’t say that part herself yet — and then she’ll pop out and say “baa!” (The literal translation of “inai, inai, baa” is something along the lines of “I’m not here, I’m not here… BOO!”) It’s pretty funny and adorable to watch, and I love seeing this playful side of Mio emerging.
Here’s a video I took of her playing peek-a-boo behind the pillows on our bed. (The last ten seconds are the best…)
