Last Sunday, we took Mio down to San Jose to meet some very special people…. She got all dressed up in her Sunday best before making the drive down.
Mio got to meet her great-grandmother Eileen! She is Dan’s paternal grandmother. 🙂
Little Mio also had the honor of being welcomed by her great-aunts!
Great-grandmother Eileen gave Mio a beautiful layette, and her great-aunts got her a portable swing! 🙂 We were very thankful for the generous gifts.
We enjoyed a delicious homemade dinner with everyone, and it was really nice seeing grandma Eileen and Dan’s aunts again, since we hadn’t been able to make it down to visit in a while. We were touched by their hospitality and were thrilled that Mio got to meet some of the wonderful ladies of the Allen family!
Mio ended up sleeping for most of our time there… I suppose it’s a lot of work being a newborn!

Thank you! The dress and bonnet were a really adorable gift from our friend. They fit perfectly, so we’re glad we had an opportunity for her to wear them before she outgrew them!
We had a great time in San Jose with Dan’s family. 🙂

She’s amazing! Very clear-headed and very able-bodied as well for her age. That’s true, I hope Mio’s inherited those awesome long-living genes! 🙂

Aww thanks Kristina! I’m not quite back to my pre-pregnancy self, but the breastfeeding has definitely helped in shrinking the tummy pretty quickly. I’m hoping I’ll lose the flab naturally that way, without having to do exercise… (You know how much I loathe exercise!)

I really like that first photo there. Not only is it a true newborn shot, I can see a good mix of you and Dan in her face there :). The other photos really came out nice and I’m glad you all had that opportunity to visit with the relatives. Thanks for representin’!

I am so glad Mio had the chance to rock this outfit while she was still “wittle” enough!
(Speaking of which, in conversation with Jason last night, I referred to Mio as “wittle,” and Jason said incredulously, “Did you just say ‘wittle’ instead of ‘little’?” to which I responded, “Yes. Yes I did.” The baby talk has officially commenced!)

Me too! I’m looking for another opportunity soon for her to wear it again. We didn’t go anywhere special for Easter so she didn’t wear it this past weekend. 🙁 Thank you so much for it though, it’s gorgeous and I love that she has such a fancy outfit!
haha* “Wittle”… I love it! I am already deep in the world of baby talk, lol.
