Watkins Park

Last Thursday, Mio and I went over to Maryland to meet up with some of my fellow Mama friends in the area and their kids.Â Together, we went on an outing to Watkins Park there and had a picnic, played on the playground, and then strolled around the farm section. It was great catching up with them, and seeing how much their children have grown… we’ve all known each other since our pre-motherhood days, so it’s really amazing to see each other with our own families now! We were a group of seven parents (including myself) and ten kids, so it was quite rowdy and a whole lot of fun!

Mio was exhausted from all the excitement of playing with so many other kids and seeing all the animals that she napped almost the whole way home! I love that she has so many friends here that she can play with every time we are back in the area. Thank you Lan and Mie for organizing the fun outing! 😀

Hanami at Golden Gate Park

On Sunday, we drove out to the city to go to Golden Gate Park, where the cherry blossoms are in bloom by the Hagiwara Japanese Tea Garden. Cherry blossoms are my favorite flower, and I love seeing them come in bloom every spring and this year, Mio got to see the beautiful blossoms she was named after. There were a lot of people having hanami (flower-viewing) picnics around the trees in Golden Gate Park — gotta enjoy them while they are still in bloom! 🙂

First Family Picnic

It finally felt like summer here in the East Bay this weekend, so we decided to get out and enjoy the nice weather with an impromptu family picnic over in Tilden Park in Berkeley. We set a blanket down on the field and ate the sandwiches and fruit we brought, and just soaked up the sun for a couple hours….

I created a makeshift canopy to shade Mio from the sun, with a blanket and some help from the wind… 😉

Hopefully the warm weather will continue for a few more weeks so we can get some more outings in… I’m not ready to say goodbye to summer yet!

Fourth of July BBQ

For Independence Day yesterday, we went over to Tilden Regional Park in Berkeley to have a BBQ picnic with some of our friends!

Veronica Invades San Francisco

My college friend Veronica is staying with our friend Sue this weekend in San Francisco, so we spent Saturday in the city with them catching up over lunch and relaxing in the park.

Here I am with Sue, Vee, and my 35-week baby bump in front of City View Restaurant in the Financial District.

I just had dim sum a couple weeks ago with Juli in Palo Alto, but I can never get enough! Especially those shrimp dumplings… my favorite!

After stuffing ourselves full, we headed over to Alamo Square for the afternoon to enjoy the beautiful weather by picnicking in the park.
