On Wednesday, December 16, Mio’s Pre-K class had their holiday concert! They sang three songs – Hoy es Navidad (the Spanish version of Jingle Bells), I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas, and the American Authors song Best Day Of My Life. Their whole performance was adorable!
Afterwards, we got to enjoy refreshments with Mio at her classroom party.
Mio: “I want to watch the movie with the robot!”
Me: “Big Hero Six…?”
Mio: “No, not the big robot one…”
Dan: “Wall-E?”
Mio: “No no no! The one with the princess!”
Dan and I: (perplexed) “A princess…?”
Mio: “The robot and the PRINCESS WITH THE BUNS!!!”
Me: “Ohhh STAR WARS!!!”
First time I got a Star Wars reference before Dan did! (and I still have not seen any of the movies all the way through…)
September means apple picking, and after going to Hartland Orchard last year and the year before, we decided to try a new apple orchard and found Crooked Run Orchard in Purcellville!
First apple picked by Mio!

They also had some pumpkins!
Afterwards, we made an apple galette with the apples we picked. It was delicious!
