I bought Dan and I tickets to go see Lindsey Stirling at Wolf Trap for Father’s Day. We got to go on a rare dinner date without the girls, and had a fun evening watching one of our favorite violinists!

We celebrated Valentine’s Day a little early this year, because I had plans to visit my best friend in Philadelphia with my girlfriends on February 14th. I took some photos of the girls matching in red to commemorate Valentine’s 2015!
Dan and I got to have an early Valentine’s dinner date on Thursday, thanks to my sister watching the kids for us! We dined at Maple Ave Restaurant, which we had heard so many good things about! We were pretty excited to have a quiet romantic dinner together, and the food did not disappoint. Everything was so incredibly delicious!
Happy 2015! The girls were a little sniffly and under the weather the week of Christmas, but were feeling better afterwards… but I ended up catching whatever they had, which really worsened around New Years Eve! It was not the ideal way to kick off the new year, but I’m grateful I could spend it with my family and get enough time to dedicate to rest and recovery!
Thanksgiving is much anticipated in our household, and this year Dan took the reigns and handled most of the cooking, while I helped out here and there as sous chef. My mom didn’t have to lift a finger, and we got a delicious Thanksgiving dinner on the table for all to enjoy!
I’m so thankful that these girls are healthy. That as a family, we laugh often. That despite all the ways I stumble along, they make me feel like I matter. That my husband is gentle, loving, and patient. That we have friends to love, who also care about us. That we have food on the table and a safe place to fall asleep each night. It makes me wonder how I’m worthy of so much. I still don’t have the answer, but oh, my heart could burst with gratitude. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
While our actual wedding anniversary was on July 26th, we were at Camp Shehaqua that weekend and couldn’t properly celebrate. We went out to celebrate a week later on Friday with a nice dinner date at Café Renaissance, a local restaurant in Vienna which recently made it onto Open Table’s Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in the country. We hadn’t had a date night in a while, so it was nice to just get out and have some time as a couple without the kids for a couple hours! The food was delicious and the service superb, and we had a very memorable anniversary dinner!
It’s been six years since our wedding and over 11 years since the beginning of our journey as a couple. We’re so blessed to have had so many wonderful years and memories together, and we look forward to several more! Can’t wait to see what the future holds. I know it’ll be a beautiful life as long as I have Dan by my side. ♥ Love you, hubby!
