My best friend Deborah is hands down the most fashionable girl I know, and she’s always spoiling Mio with the cutest outfits. Mio has been wearing the Missoni onesie that she got her for almost six months now! (Amazing that she still fits in it!) For Mio’s upcoming birthday, Debbie sent her these adorable DVF ♥ GAP outfits! I didn’t even know that Diane von Furstenberg was doing a collaboration with GAP, but leave it to bestest to be on top of such big fashion news! The clothing from the collection is super cute.
Mio is looking oh-so-sophisticated as a stylish fashionista in her new designer duds!
She has been climbing up on the gate lately, much to our dismay. Where does she get such strength and athleticism?
Asian lady squat!
One week away from turning one year old!
Rocking the DVF ♥ Gap onesie.

Love the adorable print!
I love these “democratization of fashion” collaborations that are becoming more common these days! I couldn’t help but pick up a Jason Wu for Target dress for myself just the other day! (The whole collection had initially all sold out at our local Target, but I happened to go shopping a couple weeks later and found that someone had returned one in just my size! Lucky me!) Hooray for high fashion at affordable prices.
Thank you so much, bestest, for the adorable clothes for Mio! Thanks to Debbie, Mio’s the best-dressed kid on the playground! 😉
…recreating delicious dishes in the comfort of your own home.
Homemade haemul pajeon (Korean seafood pancake) for an afternoon snack. The one thing that's lacking in the Bay Area is good Korean food... I grew up near Annandale, which has the best Korean food, so I'm constantly craving the delicious eats from back home.
… surprise packages in the mail from friends.
A lovely dress for Mio, from Jina! She remembered that dusty rose was one of my favorite colors. Love blush tones!
… including homemade goodies from the bestest!
These homemade jams that my best friend Debbie made are amazing. Both are delicious, but the blueberry champagne in particular is heavenly!
… picking up an old favorite hobby.
I've started creating floral accessories again. I hadn't made any after Mio was born, but I'm excited to have some more time to craft some fashioned florals!
My best friend Debbie was in town for Columbus Day weekend, and we spent Saturday with her and her boyfriend Jerry. We started the day off with a delicious roasted potato pizza for lunch at Cheeseboard in Berkeley, and then drove up to Napa Valley for some wine tasting! It was the first time in Napa for Debbie and I, and of course for Mio as well! Debbie has been my best friend of fourteen years, and some of my fondest memories of high school and college are those that I spent with her! I miss her so much now that we live on opposite coasts, so I’m really grateful for the time that we get to spend with each other! 🙂
Here are some photos from our day in Napa…
Debbie and Mio meet for the second time! (This was after our Cheeseboard lunch in Berkeley.)
We went to Mumm Napa, which is a winery known for great sparkling wines! (Perfect for dessert wine lovers like us!)
Arriving at Mumm Napa.
Mio waiting patiently in her stroller with Sophie.
Mio is getting a lot of love in Virginia from not only family, but a lot of her Mommy’s friends, too! 🙂 Here are some of the wonderful people Mio has had the pleasure of meeting the past few days — she is such a lucky girl! 😀
On Friday, my best friend Debbie came to see Mio.
The bestest with Mio. They're matching in plaid! Mio is already learning from my fashionable best friend!
Debbie brought Georgetown Cupcakes! I finally got to try them, and they were amazing.
Our family friend had a baby in February, so we had a playdate with their daughter Junna-chan on Saturday.
Here is Mio with Junna-chan. Mio slept through much of the playdate...
Mio’s aunt Hyo (Dan’s sister) came down to visit from New York for the weekend, too!
Mio finally got to meet Auntie Hyo!
My brother's girlfriend Elisa also came to see Mio!
My friend Stephanie came to meet Mio on Monday evening!
Mio with Auntie Stephanie... sucking on her arm. Way to make a first impression.
Thank you for visiting, Steph!
Today, Mio and I took the Metro to visit our friends Lan and Mie and their adorable sons! I forgot my camera so I couldn’t take many photos, but here are a couple that I took on my phone.
Mie with 10-month old Kosei. Super cute!!!
Lan holding Mio. Thank you for a fun afternoon together!
Mio is so lucky to be showered with so much love while we’re back East. We still have a little over a week left in Virginia, but we’ve already had so much fun making great memories with everyone here.
My best friend Debbie just got into Santa Clara today for her conference, so we drove down to have dinner with her in the South Bay. Our friend Greg, who also went to high school with Debbie and I, came along and we caught up over stone pot Japanese curry at Curry House in Cupertino.
Me with the bestest!

Saying goodbye to Debbie at her hotel.
It’s been just about a year since I’d last seen my best friend, so it was so nice seeing her again! I just wish we could have spent more time together — if Santa Clara were closer, I’d be visiting her every evening after her conference schedule. It was great catching up, though, and I hope that I can see both Debbie and Greg again soon! 🙂
