We received a package from my great grandparents in Japan a couple days ago, containing birthday presents for Mio! So grateful that Mio has such loving great grandparents, who are thinking of her all the way from Hiroshima!
Adorable socks from Miki House. Miki House makes the cutest children's apparel!
Hopefully Mio will get a chance to see her Japanese great grandparents in person someday soon. 🙂
We went down to San Jose with Dan’s parents on Sunday to visit Mio’s Great Grandma! This was their second time seeing each other — the first was when Mio was only three weeks old, so it’s been almost a year. Mio was walking around everywhere in the house and in the backyard, exploring every nook and cranny — Great Grandma was very impressed with how much she has grown. It was lovely seeing Great Grandma, Aunt Monica, and Uncle Greg again!
Mio all dolled up to see Great Grandma

Mio with peach blossoms in Great Grandma's backyard.
Such beautiful pink blossoms!
Umm... not sure what Mio's doing here. Clapping at the sky? lol
Waving at Mama
Me waving back. Mio throwing hands up in the air.
Walking on the stepping stones. She didn't want to come back inside!
Grandpa found Mio a pair of wings in the house.
Mio taking everything in with an observant eye.
Mio looks much girlier in a hairpin and dress. She's growing up to be such a sweet little girl!
Thank you Great Grandma for the hospitality and for dinner! We hope to visit again soon. 🙂
Since we’ve been cooped up indoors thanks to the rain, Mio has become pretty resourceful in entertaining herself around the house. She’s never shown too much of an interest in toys (or maybe we have the wrong ones) and is much more intrigued by random found objects. Here she is being silly with the mirror and the lid of a box….
"Who's that silly girl?"
Pressing her face against the "window"... (I remember doing this in the car as a kid, but not this young!)
What a ham!
Her personality is really starting to emerge and it’s so fun for us to watch. I love how goofy and imaginative she is, and can’t get enough of her funny antics!
