Sili Squeeze

Toddler squeezable pouches

I love finding new and innovative products for babies and kids (remember the Yoomi bottle?), so I wanted to share this neat product I recently discovered — the Sili Squeeze.

Mio is really starting to exhibit more independence lately, especially when it comes to feeding herself. She rarely accepts food when we try to spoonfeed her, and likes finger-feeding herself. She still enjoys fruit and vegetable purées sometimes, though, and loves the squeezable pouches designed for toddlers. You can find a lot of them in stores, but if you keep buying them, it can get pretty expensive! I kind of view them the same way I view jarred baby food — I feel like if I’m able to purée the food myself at home (which I can, with the Babycook), then I’d much rather do that because it’s more fresh and healthy for Mio, and inexpensive. But even if I can purée the food, how would I get it into a squeezable pouch for Mio? I can’t really reuse the storebought pouches, and Mio doesn’t like being spoonfed purées anymore, and is not adept yet at using utensils to feed herself with a spoon. This dilemma prompted me to do some research on finding a reusable squeezable pouch, and that is how I happened upon the Sili Squeeze.

Sil Squeeze pouch

The Sili Squeeze actually just hit the market last fall, and was developed out of the owner’s desire to feed her growing baby nutritious food on the go whether in the car seat, stroller, or shopping cart. The squeeze is “mommy hands free”, so your little ones can squeeze themselves silly, without the mess and wastefulness of a disposable squeeze.

It can be used by youngsters as little as six months old, all the way up until they are much older kids, to enjoy snacks like applesauce and smoothies. They are sold with two spout options — one which is spill-proof and has some resistance, for babies and toddlers, so that they don’t make a mess, and another with a resistance-free nipple spout that is more free-flowing for kids who are beyond the messy-eating stage. They come with caps, so that the contents will not spill out when not in use.

I was really excited because when I found it, I knew it was just what I needed to feed Mio homemade puréed foods without a mess! I ordered the combination pack that includes the 4 oz and 6 oz sizes, as well as both types of spouts. I ordered it a couple weeks ago and it arrived only two days later. We’ve been using it regularly ever since!

Here’s some pictures from when Mio first tried it out, earlier this month:

The Sili Squeeze is great for when you’re on the go and need a mess-free snack to take with you, but I use it a lot at home, too! Now that it’s getting warmer, maybe I’ll make some fruit yogurt smoothies for Mio to enjoy. I think this pouch is a great investment, and hope to get years of good use out of it! 🙂
